hey you diabetics, get into the office and get your lab tests every 3 months. ; dont forget to diet[. sorry you cant relax about that]; check your feet for sores esp if they are numb.
Lots of my patients problems are related to too much weight or overt obesity. Obesity leads to the ravages of diabetes, hypertension hyperlipidemia , possibly some cancers.
WEIGHT LOSS: practical tips
People become overweight or obese for many reasons. Weight issues can run in families. They can be caused by unhealthy behaviors and a person's environment. Certain health problems and medicines can also lead mto unwanted weight gain. "Willpower" is not the issue, determination and help from others may be the issues.. My experience has been that medications presently available have too many risks and a poor long term track record. .
Some simple things you can do to reach and maintain ahealthy weight are below..
AVOID sweet drinks, fast foods,.
eat a HEALTHY BREAKFAST
DON'T WATCH MORE THAN A little tv. tWO HOURS,DAY IS THE MAX LIMIT..
Chew sugar free gum between meals.
Avoid grocery shoppping when hungry
Pack a healthy lunch and avoid eating out to control what you eat.
eat FRUITS and VEGTABLES.
Be more Active.
Keep a food diary for a few days every week.Put mind over emotions and write down everything you eat. No cheating . You may be surprised.

AUGUST 2010 see recent consumer reports regarding supplements. some of you take too many , Most supplements are untested and un proven and many patients take too many and too many vitamins. We have enough trouble with prescrition meds that are tested for years. Stop supplements or ask me.EXCEPTIONS are calcium and vitamin d which are needed especially for women and sedentary men .
